Fox Terrier

The fox terrier is one of the oldest English working terriers, known before 1800 for its use in flushing foxes and either animals both above and below ground. There are two varieties of fox terrier, smooth and wirehaired, distinguished by coat, but identical in all other respects. Fox terrier are small dogs with V-shaped drops ears and an erect, docked tail. Males stand up to 40 cm (15 1/2 in) high at the shoulder and weigh 8 kg (18 lb); females are slightly smaller. For terrier should be predominantly while in color, although they frequently have brindle, red, fawn, or liver marking.

The wirehaired fox terrier was originally breeding as a hunting dog in England. Quick in intellegence, an energetic dispossition, and smart appearance have earned the wirehaired terrier top honor in competition.
