Old English Sheepdog

The old english sheepdog, one of the most distinctive breeds, has shown an ever increasing popularity, ranking among the top 40 favorite breeds in the United States. Males stand 65 cm (26 in) at the shoulder. Covered with a profuse coat, the dog bears an outer coat that should be hard in texture, not straight, but shaggy and free from curl. The undercoat is a dense, insulating, waterproof pile. This sheep dog have a smooth curl compare with poodle dog.


The old english sheepdog is a large shaggy working dog that originated about 1800 in the west of England, where it was raised primarily as a cattle and sheep drover.

The old english was developed in the west of England. The breeds that were crossed to produce it are still in doubt, although it is believed that the Scotch bearded collie played a large role. The old english is sometimes referred to as the bobtail; the tail is usually docked.

To maintain this dog need high discipline, brush constantly, sheds a lot, early discipline to curb aggressive behavior, possessive, territorial, requires lots of attention, protect from heat, keep ears clean, accustom to grooming early
